Description
New generic Top Level Domains (new gTLDs) and Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) are available for use, which contribute to more diverse users coming online. However, many applications, software as well as email systems, cannot effectively process these new gTLDs and IDNs. This hampers the access and exchange of local content, but also the possible competition, choice and innovation from using new gTLDs and IDNs. The session will introduce the challenges in universally accepting domain names and email addresses and particularly focus on how to configure email services to support email in local languages and scripts, called Email Address Internationalization (EAI).
